Kitten & Puppy Care
Welcoming a new pet into your family is an exciting time, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. At Countryside Animal Hospital, we offer personalized kitten & puppy care to ensure your new companion gets the healthiest start possible.
What to Expect at Your Pet’s First Visit
Your kitten’s first vet visit or puppy wellness visit is an important milestone. During this initial exam, our veterinary team will assess your pet’s overall health, answer any questions you have, and begin laying the foundation for their lifelong care.
We’ll talk through new pet care tips, including nutrition, socialization, behavior, and house training. This is also a great time to ask about what’s normal for your new pet—and what might be cause for concern.
Vaccinations, Deworming, and Preventive Care
Young pets are particularly vulnerable to disease, which is why we recommend beginning vaccinations for puppies and kittens as early as six to eight weeks of age. We’ll create a custom vaccine schedule based on your pet’s needs and lifestyle.
In addition, we provide parasite prevention for young pets, including protection from fleas, ticks, and intestinal worms. Early prevention is key to keeping your new companion healthy and parasite-free.
Microchipping for Kittens and Puppies
Losing a pet is a heart-wrenching experience, but a microchip can greatly increase the chances of a reunion. We offer microchipping for kittens and puppies as part of their early care, using a safe, quick, and effective procedure that provides permanent identification for life.
Lifelong Wellness Starts Here
Your pet’s first few months are critical for building a strong foundation of health. Whether you’re raising a curious kitten or an energetic puppy, we’re here to support your journey with compassionate, expert care at every stage.
